Dr. Harris was born and raised on the family farm in Northern Gibson County. He attended Gibson County School at Rutherford from Kindergarten through the eighth grade and graduating from Gibson County High School in 1995. Dr. Harris received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from The University of Tennessee in 1999 with minors in Chemistry and Spanish. Following college, Dr. Harris was accepted to the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at Rosalind Franklin University in Chicago, Illinois where he graduated with his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree in 2003. Dr. Harris then completed his internship and residency at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. Upon completion of residency, Dr. Harris returned to his native West Tennessee to begin private practice in 2006. Dr. Harris' undeniable passion in podiatric medicine in diabetic wound and foot care due to the history of diabetes in his grandfather. Dr. Harris saw his grandfather suffer greatly with diabetes and the loss of grandfather's leg which greatly impacted his choice in career. Dr. Harris also enjoys all facets of both clinical and surgical medicine. Dr. Harris is on the staff of Milan General Hospital in Milan, Tennessee where he performs surgery and takes care of inpatients when consulted.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Harris is an outdoors enthusiast. He enjoys fishing with his dad and especially hunting turkeys and deer. Dr. Harris also enjoys hiking anywhere in the beautiful state of Tennessee. He also loves four-wheelers.

Dr. Harris makes his home in Jackson. He is an active member of First Presbyterian Church of Jackson where he serves as a Ruling Elder. In addition, Dr. Harris teaches confirmation class as well as middle school Sunday School. Dr. Harris also is on the board of directors of Area Relief Ministries, an organization in Madison County to assist those who are in need. Dr. Harris has participated in three mission trips. He traveled with First Presbyterian Church to Northwest Alabama to work with Presbyterian Disaster Assistance to help with those affected by tornadoes. Also, Dr. Harris served on medical missions in both Belize and the Dominican Republic. Peru is Dr. Harris' next scheduled mission trip.
