Dr. Riffe was raised in Lombard, Illinois a western suburb of Chicago. Her senior of high school the family moved to Iowa where she graduated from Davenport West High School. The family again moved to Dallas, Texas where she attended Richland Community College until deciding to major in pharmacy. This required another move to Houston, Texas to complete her BS degree in Pharmacy from the University of Houston. After working four years in retail and hospital pharmacy, Dr. Riffe knew she wanted to continue her education and become a physician. Returning to Chicago, she enrolled in a college of podiatric medicine.
Dr. Riffe graduated from the William Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in 1989. After completion of her degree she moved to Trenton Tennessee to complete a one year podiatric medical residency. The program included rotations at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Germantown, Forum Hospital in Trenton, Milan General Hospital in Milan and several private physicians' offices and clinics in the area. During her residency she came to enjoy this part of the country, met the people of Gibson County, learned about Tennessee and saw the need for a podiatric physician in Trenton.
Since beginning private practice in 1990, Dr. Riffe has been active in many local organizations and professional societies. She has been a long standing member of both the American and Tennessee Podiatric Medical Associations. In 2005, Governor Bredeson appointed her to the Tennessee State Board of Podiatric Medical Examiners and she now serves as the chair. For personal enjoyment and recreation Dr. Riffe has been a long time member and past officer of the Gibson County Nite Lite Community Theater. Over the years she has acted on stage, produced shows, sewn costumes, wrote publicity, stage managed, built sets and ran the lights for a variety of productions. In the future she may try her hand as a director. She enjoys a wide variety of music and is a supporter of the Milan High School Band program. Dr. Riffe currently lives in Milan, Tennessee with her 2 children Angela and Eric.
